Welcome to the Outer Hebrides and North Uist in particular, as that is where I hope my work will take you.
This north-westerly area of Scotland, open to the Atlantic, an island of big seas and skies, is home. The clear blue light and constantly changing weather are part of what makes this such a beautiful place to work.
Watercolour is thought by some as a sketching medium, or one for "hobby painters". Oh no it isn't! It is a technically challenging and versatile medium that offers unique opportunities for controlled mayhem.
In my work I explore the possibiites of watercolour to capture the land, sea and skies of the islands. Here you will find images of my work - many available as signed, limited edition, giclee prints (produced by a Guild of Fine Art Printer). Some original paintings and other work is available and will be featured accordingly, but are snapped up pretty quickly from my gallery on North Uist.
All work can be despatched in sturdy postal tubes, rolled ready for your own framing, collected framed or unframed from my studio/gallery - westside gallery - on North Uist, or by other arrangements.
Prices shown are UK, including postage, in tubes, or packages as appropriate.
Commissions are always welcome.
If you are interested in sheep and wool, please look at the Hebridean Throws and wool option in the drop down Gallery menu.
